Asphalt Transport Supervisor Alex Fraser Asphalt is seeking a dependable and driven Asphalt Transport Supervisor to join our team in Derrimut . In this pivotal role, you’ll support the Resource & Logistics Manager by overseeing transport operations and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day logistics. Role Overview: As Transport Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for: • Creating a safe, hazard-free work environment through daily inspections and proactive safety measures • Supporting operations to meet on-time delivery and service KPIs, with regular reporting to identify gaps and drive cost-effective improvements • Ensuring fleet compliance with legislative and customer requirements • Reviewing and refining master route schedules to identify efficiencies and promote continuous improvement • Leading and developing a team of 12 company trucks and 21 LODs, conducting briefings and performance support Key Responsibilities: • Lead a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, pre-starts, risk assessments, and safety conversations • Operate a heavy vehicle • Schedule and plan raw aggregate deliveries with the operations and transport teams • Maintain Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance records and update PBS documentation • Roll out Safe Work Procedures (SWP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) • Report breaches and complete Safety Maintenance System (SMS) audits and truck inspections • Coordinate truck maintenance and liaise with the workshop • Train drivers in in-house software systems • Ensure compliance with CoR, NHVR, and fatigue management policies • Oversee vehicle pre-starts, servicing schedules, and maintenance follow-ups • Collaborate with dispatch and operations teams to meet delivery timeframes • Participate in bookings and be available for on-call support What You’ll Bring: • Proven supervisory experience in transport, logistics, or asphalt operations • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and connect with a diverse team • Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities in dynamic environments • Solid understanding of CoR regulations and transport compliance • Experience with fleet routing, SAP, and MEX systems (highly regarded) Why Join Us? • Be part of a leading company in sustainable infrastructure • Work in a supportive, safety-first environment • Competitive salary and career development opportunities • Make a real impact on Victoria’s transport and construction landscape Ready to take the wheel in a leadership role?
